What We Do

HCFC offers a variety of events throughout the year.  As a non-profit, our events are only possible with the support of the community! If you would like to sponsor an event, call the museum at 507-373-8003, or contact us by email.

Our exhibits delve into the extraordinary and everyday stories of Freeborn County:  pioneers homesteading the prairie, internationally recognized celebrities, and entrepreneurs building businesses.  The exhibits throughout the museum strive to bring history to life, inspiring everyone who interacts with us to connect with the rich heritage of the county.

While our collection’s main emphasis is Freeborn County history, any historical and genealogical research can be conducted in our library.

Take advantage of membership benefits and support local history.
