Looking for an adventure in Freeborn County? The History Center offers a variety of events and programs year round. All events are listed at Central Standard Time (CST) unless otherwise stated. As a non-profit, our events are made possible with the support of the community! If you would like to sponsor an event, call the History Center at 507-373-8003, or contact us by email.
For members tickets, please keep in mind that your discount only applies to the same number of tickets that your membership applies to. For example, if you have an Individual membership, you may get one ticket at the discounted rate. All other tickets should be purchased at the full rate. If you have the Household membership, you are welcome to purchase tickets for your household at the discounted rate and all other tickets should be purchased at the regular rate. Thank you.

THE COTTON PICKIN' TRUTH...STILL ON THE PLANTATION
The Cotton Pickin' Truth... Still On The Plantation is a documentary film that calls for the re-writing of American history as we know it. The film uncovers modern-day slavery in the Mississippi Delta in 2009.

Did you know the Albert Lea Tribune was established in 1897? Join the Albert Lea Tribune and the History Center of Freeborn County to discuss local news—hear about newspaper happenings, questions, the importance of local news and how the Tribune continues to serve the community today — news tips welcome! Cash bar provided by the 112 on Broadway.
CIVIL WAR ROUNDTABLE
The Albert Lea Civil War Roundtable meets the first Thursday of each month with no meetings June through August. All are welcome to part of this interesting and vibrant group of history enthusiasts. Admission is FREE. HCFC collaborates with the Albert Lea Civil War Roundtable by providing a suitable and comfortable facility.
MEATBALL SUPPER AND SILENT AUCTION
Meatballs in gravy, mashed potatoes served with corn and bakery bun. Proceeds help fund programming at the Museum.
Silent Auction with a variety of local treats as well as other fun items.
